Top 10 Places to Eat in Glasgow

In Glasgow we are spoilt for choice in terms of excellent places to eat. Glasgow is the perfect city to get that foodie fix and soak up some metropolitan vibes. The city’s ever-growing food scene offers more and more places to try. Here are 10 places to eat that we simply love.

1. Two Fat Ladies – City Centre

An absolute must for fish and seafood lovers and just around the corner from Blythswood Square Apartments.

2. Obsession of India

One of Glasgow’s top-ranked Indian restaurants on TripAdvisor, this is a perfect place to satisfy that curry craving. We can recommend the delicious buttery garlic naans.

3. No 16 – West End

A long-time favourite, Number 16 hit the press earlier this year when pastry chef Helen Vass won Bake Off Creme de la Creme. This tiny Byres Road restaurant is a foodie paradise, offering incredible Scottish produce in a super relaxed and comfortable setting.

4. Crabshakk

Setting the standard for seafood in the city, the Crabshakk serves what could be the best langoustines in town. Excellent service and a great atmosphere, we love this buzzing restaurant on Argyle Street.

5. The Restaurant at Blythswood Square Hotel

The closest restaurant to our apartments. You are in luck because it also happens to be top class. From excellent food, wine and cocktails, in a luxurious yet relaxed setting, this is the place to be in Glasgow. The menu has the wow factor for us.

6. Bread Meats Bread

Bread Meats Bread is a go-to foodie fest spot. Think juicy burgers that are to die for and exotic sandwiches such as BBQ pulled lamb. A haven for meat lovers and there are also some delicious veggie and vegan options with a twist.

7. Julie’s Kopitiam

This quirky and inviting Malaysian street food cafe is not to be missed. Julie reached the quarter finals of Masterchef in 2014 and is known in Glasgow as the connoisseur of Asian grub. Check out some of her best loved dishes, such as Char Kuay Teow and Nasi Lemak.

8. Single End Cafe Bakehouse

This charming cafe and takeaway bakehouse is a great place to eat in Glasgow. The team are passionate about making good, healthy and clean food. The menu has been inspired by the growing demand for super foods and raw ingredients such as Camargue rice, quinoa, nuts, citrus fruits and spices.

9. Dakota Bar and Grill

For juicy steak cooked on hot coals, fresh fish and tempting desserts, this stylish and comfortable restaurant is the one for you. The cocktail menu is also impressive, what’s not to love?

10. Ox and Finch

This restaurant offers contemporary and chilled out dining which is themed around sharing. Offering an extensive menu of modern British meat and veggie options, this is Scottish tapas or ‘wee plates’ at its best. It’s good to share.
